Celebrating Healthcare Heroes: GD’s Recognition Winners

Now that 2025 has ended, we’re reflecting on the moments, milestones, and people who made this year extraordinary. In emergency care, it’s often the unseen work, the quick decisions, the critical communication, and the teamwork behind every patient outcome that makes all the difference. 

This year, we invited healthcare professionals across EMS, Emergency Departments, hospitals, and regional systems to recognize the colleagues who exemplify dedication, compassion, and commitment to seamless care. The nominations highlighted countless stories of resilience, innovation, and collaboration.

Today, we are proud to announce the winners of GD’s 2025 Healthcare Heroes Recognition Program.

All our winners demonstrate what it means to be a true connector in healthcare — someone who communicates clearly, supports their team, and goes above and beyond to improve patient care. Our Grand Prize Winner: Shelbea Comer
Nominated because: As an ED Director, she works with her team in the trenches, supports their growth, and demands high expectations. She cares about her team outside of work and is very understanding. She has gone above and beyond for not only the staff but also for the citizens of the community. 

Recognition Winner: Eric Scrivner
Nominated because: He takes the time to educate staff to help them be better. He is active in the community and well-loved by his patients. 

Recognition Winner: Marcus Franklin
Nominated because: They demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and keep moral high, standards high, and maintains the values of the organization.
